Thankful Thursday: His Perspective

The first thing that came to mind this morning as I began contemplating what I am thankful for that I would like to share is perspective.  The state of one’s ideas, the facts known to one, etc., in having a meaningful interrelationship.  A mental view or outlook.  The relationship of aspects of a subject to each other and to a whole. The ability to perceive things in their actual interrelations or comparative importance.

The ability to perceive things in their ACTUAL interrelations or comparative importance.  I don’t know about everyone else, but sometimes it is easy for me to be so focused on my life and my space that I fail to see how my action or inaction affects the whole.  Sometimes I need someone to give me a new perspective on a situation so that I am more aware of what is really going on.  Sometimes I just can’t see the bigger picture without a little change in perspective.

The thing about perspective is there are always many different ways to view something and without a bigger view of the whole, you may very well miss something important.  There are so many things going on in a situation that are outside our vision it is no wonder we miss them.  I read a story earlier this week that I wish I could find.  It was a conversation with God where someone was complaining to him about the events of their day and He shared with them all the reasons for the supposed inconveniences in their day that had actually been moments of grace and mercy provided by Him in His wisdom and protection.

I am thankful today for perspective that God gives me when I am floundering.  I am thankful when He allows me to see the bigger picture into my circumstances or those around me.  I am thankful when He gives me a glimpse of truth that I need on my journey that allows me to play my part in the kingdom with His perspective in mind.  I am thankful for peeps who are willing to lovingly share their perspective with me or point me to Him so He can show me His perspective.  I pray that He continues to shine His light into all my circumstances so that I will continually grow in my ability to see others thru His perspective!
