A Thousand Words: Part 5 – The Promises

I took a break from this for a couple of days but it’s still been on my mind. I don’t know about any of you, but there are days when the only thing I can manage to do is stand on His promises. Heck, if I am completely honest, sometimes I don’t stand very well. Sometimes the best I can hope for is to drag my limping body over to the promise and sort of just flop down and hope I land on it. Anyone know what I mean?

Well, I decided to get back to the scriptures I’ve saved for this painting and sure enough there were some promises for me…and YOU. There are some promises that I need right now.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. (Isaiah 43:2)

“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none,
Their tongues fail for thirst.
I, the Lord, will hear them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in desolate heights,
And fountains in the midst of the valleys;
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
And the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree,
The myrtle and the oil tree;
I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine
And the box tree together,
20 That they may see and know,
And consider and understand together,
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it. (Isaiah 41:17-20)

Behold, I will do a new thing,

Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field will honor Me,
The jackals and the ostriches,
Because I give waters in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert,
To give drink to My people, My chosen.
21 This people I have formed for Myself;
They shall declare My praise. (Isaiah 43:19-21)

17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters.[a] And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” (Revelation 7:17)

For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.

(Psalm 36:9)
