Painting in His Presence and Hearing His Voice

Did you know that God still speaks today? I’m not talking about additional revelation outside of His written word. I’m talking about deeply personal revelation that lines up with His written word. I’m talking about deeply personal revelation that speaks from His heart to yours. I’m talking about relational conversation.

Did you know He can speak thru things you create like a yummy dish for your family or an email to a friend or a note to your son or daughter? Did you know He can speak thru your hug or your smile or your kind word? Did you know He can speak thru paint?

The women in this slide show know that! If they didn’t know it before, which I’m sure most of them did, they do now. A couple of nights ago we gathered to paint. We gathered to meet with Him on our blank canvases. Some had done this before. Some had not. Some were trained painters. Some were first time painters. All were there to see what God would create thru them. All were there to see what God would say to them. All left with a message. Some are still receiving from Him as the days go by. I suspect all of them will continue that journey.

These are my friends. Some I know deeply. Some I am just getting to know. Some I knew for one night and got to see a glimpse of their relationship with the Father in what they painted. That is a holy way to get to know someone.

God spoke so many things into that room! He spoke healing and new life. He spoke destiny. He confirmed identity. He promised covering and protection. He reassured us of His power in the things that are important to us. He showed up in rivers and waves and fountains and fire. He met each of us in our vulnerability to create and share.

Thank you Anne Ashton for ushering us all into His Presence.  Thank you for speaking life into each woman there that night. Thank you for opening your home to us. Thank you for calling out the creative places in each one of us so that we could better hear the voice of our Father.

(Click on Anne’s name and you can check out her ministry Facebook page…you might even want to schedule an event of your own…who knows…God may have something to say to you on a canvas!)
