Thankful Thursday: Salty, Fiery Friends!

Do you have any friends who are willing to speak life into you?  REAL life?  Words of life that aren’t meant to prop you up, but are spoken out of love to make you see where your thoughts are bringing death and bring the life back into your thoughts?  Friends whose words are salty and are spoken into a wounded place in you that needs the healing power of that salt?  If you do?  Thank God for them!  If you don’t?  Ask Him to bring one into your life and then hold on…don’t panic.

I was involved in a couple of conversations yesterday that come together in this post.  One was about salt, the other was about fire.  Both were about healing and growing up into new places in Him.  Some places in us are meant to be healed in our journey thru life with Him.  Some things are just meant to be burned away because they are not necessary in the Kingdom.  Both salt and fire are necessary in the Kingdom…not only necessary…crucial.  The initial effects may not be all that fun but the benefits….the end game….the new place in Him….the other side….I have a hunch it is worth it!

If you find yourself walking thru fire….trust the One who is allowing it.

If you know a trusted friend who walks with Him….invite them into your wounded areas and allow them to speak His salted words into that place.

If someone trusts you with their wounds….graciously and prayerfully speak life into them….be the salt and carry the fire He puts inside of you.

Thank you Lord for fire and salt YOU provide to bring us more fully into YOUR GLORY!

Let your speech always be [a]with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. – Colossians 4:6

49 Everyone will be salted with fire.50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other.” – Mark 9:49-50
