18 As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. 19 Jesus did not let him, but said, “Go home to your own people and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.” 20 So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[b] how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed. – Mark 5:18-20
I have grown to love hearing the testimonies of others. I especially love hearing about a person’s spiritual journey and seeing the person’s face light up with the re-telling of what God is doing in their lives. I love the peace that I see on a friends face when they have been touched by God in an unmistakable way.
I watched a testimony yesterday that did what I would guess the demon-possessed man’s testimony did for those around him. I was amazed by her story. The amazement wasn’t in the details of the story. I was amazed by the glimmer in her eye as she told it. I was amazed at her heart toward God. I was amazed by her desire for more where that came from. I was amazed by her faith in the One she serves to work in her any way He wanted to.
I want to be so filled up by the Spirit working in my life that I would have a testimony that would point others to be amazed by God. I want that kind of faith. I want that kind of journey. I want that glimmer in my eye for Him and what He is doing. I want it this side of eternity.
